Game drives

Game drives in akagera National park will offer amazing views of the park like the water sources for instance lake Shakani and lake Ihema that act as animal spots for animals like the bush bucks, oribi, gazelle in the park where they can quench their thirst from and the different bird that will give you an amazing experience during your stay in the park and these can be carried out at a fee of 180 USD Half board with a maximum of 7 people and full board at a price of 280 USD, night game drive at a fee of 45USD for adults and 30USD for Children.

Birding

Akagera national park is a home to over 400 bird species and this can give you the chance to see over 100 bird species on their birding expedition. Among the bird species that can be seen include; the African fish Eagle, the open billed stork, the egrets, cormorants, Senegal lapwings, African darter, Hammerkop, Caruthers’s cisticola, pied crow, black headed weaver, fan tailed widow bird, violet’s black weaver, long crested Eagle and also get to see the endangered shoe bill stork among other bird species.

Sport fishing

Cultural encounters

Visit the Humure refugee camp an exciting community that fled from Tanzania running away from the civil way. The community settled in Rwanda but it still practices the cultural values in their Tanzanian tribes, the trips in the communities are quite interesting because they will give you an insight in the lives of the locals where you will get to see how they preserve their culture through food preparation, storytelling, cultural dances and many other activities that can be carried out at a fee of 30USD for Foreign non-residents and Foreign residents f at a fee 20USD

Camping

Camping in the park is quite rewarding because it will give you the chance to see a number of breathtaking views of the park as you spend your overnight stay in the wild. Among the views that can be seen include; exceptional views of lake Shakani and lake Ihema, a number of bird species, a number of animal species graving in the plains only at a fee of 25 USD for every tourist.
